What’s the difference between V.Series and P.Series?
P.Series is ShiftCam’s more portable, compact lens tier for everyday mobile photography. It’s designed for users who want an easy way to explore new focal lengths, capture different perspectives, and improve their shots without adding too much size or complexity to their setup.
V.Series is ShiftCam’s premium optical tier, built for creators who want a higher level of image quality, optical precision, and creative control. It uses full fluorite optics, up to 7 optical elements, and up to 7 coating layers per surface to help deliver cleaner clarity, stronger contrast, and better control over flare, distortion, and chromatic aberration.
In short, P.Series is smaller, lighter, and made for everyday shooting. V.Series is larger, more advanced, and built for higher-end creative work.
Which lens should I start with?
Start with the kind of photos or videos you want to improve first.
If you want better portraits, choose 60mm. If you want wider travel or landscape shots, choose 16mm. If you love close-up details, choose Macro. If you shoot action or creative POV angles, choose the V.Series 200° Fisheye. If you want to bring faraway subjects closer, choose the 240mm Super Zoom.
P.Series is the easier starting point for everyday shooting. V.Series is the premium step up when you want more optical quality, control, and a more refined image look.
Why use a mobile lens when my phone already has multiple cameras?
Phone cameras are powerful, but many effects still rely on digital cropping, software blur, or smaller secondary cameras. A mobile lens gives your phone a real optical effect before the image is processed.
That means you can create more natural depth, wider perspective, closer detail, or stronger compression through glass — not just software. ShiftCam lenses are designed around the 1× main camera, so you can shoot with the phone’s strongest sensor while adding the creative look your built-in camera alone may not achieve.
Which phone camera should I use with the lens?
ShiftCam mobile lenses are designed to work with your phone’s 1× main camera. To attach the lens, you’ll need a compatible ShiftCam S.Mount camera case or the Universal S.Mount.
For the easiest setup, use a dedicated ShiftCam case where available. It gives you fast attachment and precise alignment. If your phone model does not have a dedicated case, the Universal S.Mount lets you align the lens manually with your phone’s 1× camera.
Do I need anything else to use the lenses?
Yes — you need a mounting solution. Each lens requires either a compatible ShiftCam S.Mount camera case or the Universal S.Mount to attach it to your phone.
Do you sell compatible filters?
Yes. ShiftCam 72mm Magnetic Filters are available for creators who want more control over reflections, exposure, highlights, and the overall image feel.
- P.Series lenses can also use the same 72mm Magnetic Filters, but require an additional lens-to-filter mounting adapter before the filters can be magnetically attached.
- V.Series lenses can magnetically attach our 72mm Magnetic Filters using the included magnetic filter mount.
Can I use these lenses for video too?
Yes. ShiftCam lenses can be used for both photography and video.
Use 60mm for more cinematic portraits and tighter framing, 16mm for wider scenes and handheld movement, 200° Fisheye for action and POV shots, Macro for detail shots, and 240mm Super Zoom for distant subjects or compressed perspectives.
What grip do you recommend with these lenses?
For P.Series, we recommend SnapGrip Pro. It keeps the setup lighter, faster, and easier to carry — ideal for everyday shooting, travel, and quick creative moments.
For V.Series, we recommend ProGrip. Its larger ergonomic grip gives you a more secure handheld setup, especially when shooting with premium lenses for longer sessions. It also offers bigger wireless charging capacity, making it better suited for more serious mobile photography and video work.
Can I use the normal camera app?
Yes, you can use your phone’s normal camera app. For the most consistent results, make sure the lens is aligned with your phone’s 1× main camera.
Some phones may automatically switch cameras in certain shooting modes or close-focus situations. On iPhone, you can reduce this by going to Settings → Camera → Macro Control and switching it on, so you can manually turn off macro switching when needed.
For even better control, we recommend using a third-party camera app such as ProCamera, Lightroom, or Blackmagic Camera, which can help you lock the camera lens you want to shoot with.
